{Smocked Bishop - Lesson 3}

We have finally made it to Lesson 3! I'm sorry it didn't get here quicker, I've been bogged down with alot of other sewing-related things that I will blog about at a later date! I also had some major issues in uploading my videos, but finally got it figured out, so without further ado, here is lesson 3 - enjoy, oh and by the way, I have a BONUS for you - you get to tour my sewing room!

Please leave me any questions you might have. I also want to make note that you need to start with an up-cable when you begin your cable row across Row 1, starting in the center front. I am going to get to work on graphing a smocking plate for this bishop dress tutorial that will be available as a free download!

I haven't gotten my fabric yet, but am planning on it soon. When I do I can't wait to get started on this sweet dress. It's so sweet of you to share the smocking plate also!

GREAT Job on Lesson 3. Video, lighting and sound was great. You look just like you have always sounded over the ph my friend.

Question- You know my longtime FEAR of Buillion roses, can you do one of these on buillion roses so I can watch it 50 times and finally get it?

2nd Can you also demo the Honeycomb smocking stitch?

Great tour of your BIG sewing studio. I am jealous!

Thanks again & great job!!! Look forward to Lesson 4.

I love the tour of your sewing room! Still deciding on a sewing machine! I sorta wish that I hadn't given our older daughter my old one until AFTER I got a new one! haha I was hoping to have some sewn pieces for handquilting when my hubby and I go to visit famiy in Hawaii... hm...maybe I can do a practice piece of smocking and more on my hand pieced hexagon quilt...

Blessings & Aloha!
I am off today, but had to do appts and errands, so stopped by to say hello!

Laurie,
Very beautiful work..I'm so glad I found your site! I'm actually still making my way round meeting fellow Bloggerette Sisters! My blog is also about sewing..mostly. Take care. I'm planning on checking out your other blog as well!

PS. I think your hospital gown is great!

How do I know how tight to gather the pleats in my sleeves. The pattern I'm using has no guide or instructions. It's like they forgot to mention the step at all. I've been using your videos as a guide. Thank you so much for the help. I've also put links to them on my blog page with my "Bishop Dress Sew Along" that I'm currently doing. Right now I'm stuck on how much to gather the sleeves. Thanks again.
