The whole "smilted" stocking is my own pattern, from the smocking to the quilting! The stocking is lined on the inside with muslin. If I would have had more time, I might have considered putting some warm and natural batting between the layers and doing some hand or machine quilting. Time just didn't allow for me to do that this year, but next time (more like next year) I make this stocking I think I just might try it! Here's a closer look at my "smilted stocking".
The smocking design is also my own graphed design
that I named "Evergreen and Holly".
Silk satin ribbon adorns the upper left of the stocking. I folded the ribbon in half and ran a basting stitch for several inches, then scrunched the ribbon and hand-stitched it to the stocking opening and added a little pink ribbon rosette.
I was thinking about doing a giveaway on my blog, but I decided that I would give ALL my followers a special Christmas Gift, instead! From now until midnight Christmas night, you can download my smocking plate "Evergreen and Holly" for free - it's my little Christmas gift to you! Starting on the 26th, it will be available at Brer Rabbit Designs for purchase, so make sure you get it downloaded before then if you want it. Here's a another look at my smocking plate, "Evergreen and Holly". You can download it HERE!
